I don’t have a phone line. Will I be able to get Echo IT Broadband?

Yes. You do not require a phone line to get our broadband service.

Are there download limits?

No. Echo IT Broadband do not place data limits on customers packages, but a fair usage policy applies.

Can I use Echo IT Broadband for security cameras, calving cameras and servers?

Yes, custom packages are available to suit these requirements.

I don’t have a wireless router. Is this an extra cost?

No. Echo IT Broadband provide a FREE wireless router with every installation as part of the install fee.

Is this a contended service?

Yes. However the rate of contention is low on Echo IT’s broadband service.

Will Netflix work on Echo IT Broadband?

Yes.

Am I bound by a contract?

No. You will not be locked into  fixed term contract by Echo IT Broadband

How do I make payments?

Payments for Echo IT Broadband are made by direct debit. Installation fees can be made by cash, cheque or credit card.

How much does it cost?

Installation costs €150. This includes the site test and the provision of a wireless router. Costs of the various monthly packages can be found here

How long will I be waiting for an installation?

Please allow 5-10 working day for an installer to visit your property to install the service. This time can vary depending on demand levels and safe working weather conditions.

What are the hours of support?

Echo IT Broadband Support Hours are Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5.30pm

 

Troubleshooting

  • Often software problems and settings preventing your internet access from operating correctly can be cleared and reset by performing a restart on your computer. For best results, fully log out and shut down the computer and give it a good 10 seconds rest before starting it up again, but more often than not a simple restart will suffice.
  • Problems can occur in any routers and hubs that you may be using with your connection. Reboot these devices by turning off the power for 10 seconds and wait 30 seconds before checking if the internet connection has been restored.

NB PLEASE ONLY DISCONNECT THE POWER CONNECTION ON THE ROUTER DO NOT PUSH THE RESET BUTTON AS THIS WILL CLEAR THE ROUTER CONFIGURATION AND WILL RESULT IN THE NEED OF A TECHNICIAN CALL OUT WHICH IS CHARGEABLE

  • There should be a cable coming in from the main unit outside, that is plugged into a small box with three cables please make sure that all cables are plugged into this box nice and snugly.
  • There is a small box called the Power Over Ethernet unit (POE) and it is the power source for your Receiver mounted outside. Check that the power is on, and to restart the unit, disconnect the power cable from the unit for about 10 seconds before replacing.
